ARS MEMORIA : LE PALAIS MENTAL

This group show brings together 5 contemporary artists in a journey around skulls and the material marks of these which all nourish the imagination. It hails from the particularly rich publication ‘Being Skull’ (Être crâne) by Georges Didi-Huberman, which relates how some artists take an interest in their circular marks, through rubbed or moulded imprints, and focus their efforts on this motif, its irregular surfaces, and collective memory. It is an archaeological dialogue between places and artworks, which ever so closely pursues circuitous thinking.
