Artist's portolio
The work of Erik Nussbicker experiences our gaze on death, the limits of our carnal envelope, our place in nature. As a visual artist, performer and scenographer, he invents and plays musical instruments that he shaped with bones of animals or insects’ exoskeletons. Sometimes he creates works that make sacred bronze resonate, that rustle with flies, or which receive colored vibrations of luminous waves. Hybridations of nature, his works are for mankind a field of action: to blow, to play, to nourish, to meditate. Apotropaic rituals to better understand the world, our origins, our finality.

Singular character of the contemporary art scene, he has been shown in prestigious institutions (Jeu de Paume, Centre Georges Pompidou, Palais de Tokyo…). In 2016, Condition Publique in Roubaix shows a 1500-sqm-exhibition of his work and in 2019, he benefits from a triple exhibition [APOKATASTASIS] at Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, Maubert Gallery and Vent des Forêts. In 2022, he participates to two collective exhibitions curated by Jean-Hubert Martin : Musicanimale at the Philarmonie de Paris and Drôles de Convergences at the Pouchkine Museum in Moscow.
