Sara Favriau

Born in 1983. Lives and works in Paris.

Between image and sculpture: the artworks of Sara Favriau occupy the interstice. Images, in the sense that they reproduce somewhat recognizable forms laden with both personal and collective meanings. Sculptures, because they deploy in space and toy with masses, voids, points of view, scale, distance and proximity from within and without. Occurring in both physical and mental space, her works incur ambulation, movement of body and mind, thus stimulating their fictional potential. (Sarah Ihler Meyer).

Sara Favriau is the winner of  the 2015  “Prix des Amis du Palais de Tokyo” . In 2016, Sara Favriau had benefited from a 600 sqm-personal exhibition at Palais de Tokyo in Paris. In 2017, she has a solo-show at Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire (FR), Independent Brussels and makes a residency: Arts and the world of work with Ministry of Culture, in partnership with the CNEAI. In 2018, she participates to the first Bangkok Biennale Beyond Bliss as a guest of honor and will conduct the French Los Angeles Exchange (FLAX) residency. The work of Sara Favriau is present in many public collections: FMAC (collection of the city of Paris), FDAC Essonne, MAC VAL (permanent installation, inauguration April 2018)…
